GEEL Somalia USAID contracted Horn Gardens to procure, deliver and install 50 complete 1 acre open drip irrigation kits to 30 selected farmers in parts of Somaliland. The objective of the project was to supply, install and train and transfer SMART Agriculture practises to the selected farmers to enable them adopt to modern sustainable agriculture practises. The contract also includes the training of 15 university graduates (Agriculture Faculty) to become agricultural extension agents to service ongoing extension requirements to the 30 total selected beneficiaries.
